Vocaloid Song?! Wild New Music by Ryo Supercell

Ryo (Supercell), a virtual pop band from Japan, is releasing a CD with a fake vocalist using vocaloid software! The songs are actually catchy and fun. ;-)

They even have a name for the “vocalist” : Hatsune Miku!

The music is out now and you can download the EP SEKIRANUN GRAFFITI from iTunes and Amazon. Listen;

Translated as “Thundercloud Graffiti” the track is also the game music for the PROJECT DIVA PSP video game.

“Ryo and the members of Supercell are multimedia artists from Japan. The virtual vocaloid Singer named Hatsune Miku (the name means “first sound of the future,”) is brought to life by Crypton Future Media on Yamaha’s Vocaloid 2 software.”

This art for the new album is by Atsuya Uki:

The girl star singing computer voice of Hatsune Miku is huge in video games in Japan. She has even had “concerts,” as a 3D hologram backed up by real life band.

Miku did her first live gig in the U.S., “MIKUNOPOLIS in LOS ANGELES,” at the July, 2011 Anime Expo in LA.
